Analytical journals: open calls for papers

Guided by Editor-in-Chief Norman Dovichi (University of Notre Dame, USA) and supported by a team of international Associate Editors, Analyst is the home of premier fundamental discoveries in the analytical and bioanalytical sciences. Analyst aims to publish the best contemporary papers across a broad area of analytical science as reflected by the composition of the Editorial and Advisory Board. Accepted articles will be collated in an online collection as soon as they are accepted and in the themed collection as a whole and will be promoted as a complete collection in 2024.

This themed issue is requesting submissions of original research as well as high quality reviews that describe and demonstrate new approaches to the application of analytical methods that enhance or improve their access in low-resource settings. Submissions from all areas of analytical chemistry are encouraged. While approaches based on novel, ‘low-tech’ solutions are anticipated, submissions will still be required to meet the very high standards of scientific and analytical rigour expected of all submission to Analytical Methods.

This themed issue is requesting submissions of original research as well as high-quality reviews that address the discussion of the latest concepts and developments in the field of pesticide residues in food and drink, which have gone through a silent revolution over the last decade thanks to the significant advances in mass spectrometry instrumentation. Particular emphasis will be placed on novel instrumental approaches, (green) sample preparation methods, qualitative/screening methods using High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry and databases, and the latest advances in single-residue methods. Other pivotal aspects, such as the discussion of guidelines for analytical quality control and validation procedures, are also within the scope of the issue.

Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry is a Transformative Journal, and Plan S compliant

JAAS is the home of innovative research on fundamentals, instrumentation, and methods in the determination, speciation and isotopic analysis of (trace) elements within all fields of application. We hope to highlight the following areas in this collection:

• Precision isotope measurements using different techniques.
• Recent developments in instruments or measurement capabilities.
• Novel applications of measurement data.
• Recent developments in sampling.

Accepted papers will be published on the RSC website as Advance Articles as soon as they are ready and published in the next available electronic issue of the journal. All accepted papers will be gathered together in an online web collection here. There will not be a printed version of the issue. There is no upper limit to the number of articles you can submit.

We welcome the submission of Communications, Full Papers and Technical Notes.
