I brought my wedding dress here after the ceremony to get professionally cleaned. Angela was wonderful to work with and got back to quickly via email. I did spring for the preservation box which took a long time to receive and get back to me (they did quote me 12 weeks and it took around 15 weeks due to lack of preservation boxes. That being said, when the dress arrived the box was beautiful and the dress was properly cleaned in a timely manner (in other words, they didn't clean the dress until they received the preservation box). As a local and family owned company - I'd return my things back to them!

My daughter’s train to her wedding dress needed to be pressed, Pratt Abbott pressed it. It looked so beautiful when she put it on.

Outstanding job pressing our wedding day clothes! The staff at Pratt Abbott were so kind and took us in on fairly short notice. They did a beautiful job pressing my gown - tulle and beading weren’t the easiest to work with, but they knocked it out of the park. They also made sure my husband’s suit was flawless for pictures.

It was so easy to drop off and pick up. They did an amazing job on the preservation and were all so kind. I received updates on when the dress would be done and it came right on time.

Pratt Abbott in South Portland did some emergency cleaning and pressing for my son in law to be the day before his wedding with a very quick turnaround. The staff was pleasant and understanding and went the extra mile to get it done. My daughter took her dress there to be cleaned and preserved, again the staff was great with good communication.

a bit costly but they do their job very well. I would recommend to whoever is willing to pay the price.

Pratt Abbott cleaned my wedding dress really well. Their intake process was easy. They want to make sure they've noted all the dirty bits (and there will be...plenty), and that you agree. It may take some time, but I was dine with that -- the wedding was over! I have my dress back and it looks lovely!

Couldn’t recommend Pratt Abbott in Yarmouth, ME enough. About a week before my wedding I was at my final fitting and somehow something black got on the front of my dress. In a panic I immediately brought the dress to Pratt Abbott to see if they could get the stain out. The staff at the store was incredibly helpful and Angela did an amazing job in less than a week! The dress came back in perfect condition with the stain removed and it looked beautiful. I also used Pratt Abbott to preserve my wedding dress and couldn’t be happier with the results.

I didn’t know what to do with my dress after our special day! I knew I wanted it cleaned but did I want it preserved? Looking into Pratt and Abbott was the best decision! I was able to figure out what was my best option, drop it off at my most convenient location, and then pick it up EARLIER than quoted. Love working with Pratt and Abbott!

They did a great job cleaning my dress and getting it back to me on time. Everyone was super friendly and careful when returning my dress. The only hitch was that they replaced some buttons on the back of my dress, and accidentally sewed some of the buttons into my zipper, so my dress no longer zipped up. I was able to identify the problem and fix it pretty easily with a seam ripper and some white thread, but that's the only thing keeping my review from being 5-stars.

We selected Pratt Abbott Garmet Care to clean our daughter's wedding dress. They did a FABULOUS job!! The folks at Pratt Abbott were so nice and saw I was nervous about dropping that very special dress off! I received an email from them explaining the process and it was ready even before the time they quoted. When I got it home, the dress was sparkling like new! I totally recommend them to clean your wedding gown! I know they will handle your garments with care!!

Due to COVID, I'll be wearing my dress twice! I wore it in October for a small backyard ceremony (where it rained) so the bottom of my dress was muddy and had pine needles in the lace. I dropped it off at Pratt Abbott and once I received it back it looked brand new! They even took care of my personalized hanger. Not going to lie I was definitely nervous about just dropping it off at a dry cleaner, I figured I have to go to a specialized wedding dress cleaner, but Pratt Abbott was great. Definitely recommend!

After my son and daughter in laws wedding I wanted to be sure she would have her dress for years to come. I initially sent it to Pratt Abbott to get it cleaned and then was asked if we would like to preserve it. I was so glad they offered this service as I had my own preserved years ago so I thought I would get it done for her. They did a great job and it is now safely cleaned and preserved in a storage box. They were very helpful as well as timely. It definitely puts your mind at ease to know it’s all taken care of for perhaps another wedding day!

Pratt Abbott did wonders on my dress! I got married outside, back in September and it was super dry out so the entire bottom of my dress and train was brown/grey looking from all the dust/dirt. I went in with low expectations because it was really bad and the sequence in my dress was all knotted from dancing the night away but I have to say I was blown away by how clean they got it and they took care in sorting out the knotted pieces of sequence! I also spoke to Angela Emery before and she walked me through the whole process and explained all of the options and helped me narrow down exactly what I wanted to do! They gave me a time frame for how long they expected it to be finished and they completed it a couple weeks early!! Overall, I highly recommend Angela and Pratt Abbott for any and all of your wedding gown needs both before and after the wedding!!

We had a reimagined backyard ceremony and reception during covid and the bottom of the dress had a bit of dirt and stains by the end of the evening. Pratt Abbott’s wedding dress cleaning team made it look like new. I was able to resell the dress and included the cleaning certificate that Pratt Abbott provided to increase the resale value.

I made my daughters wedding dress and while I'm doubting anyone else will every wear it, it was important to preserve it just in case. Pratt Abbott made the whole process very easy, they were very professional, friendly, and helpful. Cleaned my Wendy dress and linens after my outdoor wedding. Ground was very muddy and my dress bottom was covered with mud. I thought it was ruined but they did an unbelievable job of cleaning this. Communication was great through the whole process as well

I was very nervous about trusting my wedding dress with anyone! But communicating back and forth with Angela and then chatting with the young lady who did the intake on my dress in Windham all help put me to ease. They were so easy to work with and my dress came back like it was brand new! The dress was pretty dirty from my mountainside wedding and you couldn't even tell I dragged it up and down the wet mountain and then dance the night away in it. I really appreciate how easy it was to drop off and pick up (since I could drop it off in my town although the cleaning took place at another location). Thank you!

Pratt Abbott was amazing with my dress!! My mom made my dress so there were no special care directions but they did amazing with my dress!! Everyone was super friendly, thorough, and went over every inch of my dress with me (and there where a lot of layers!). Pratt Abbott took good care of my 1940s wedding dress. They were not able to remove all stains, but it did come back looking very nice.

I waited longer than I should have to finally get my wedding dress preserved. I felt like it was the final memory still lingering to be sealed away for later. Pratt Abbott worked WONDERS on my wedding dress. I almost cried dropping the dress off, admittedly nervous to leave it in someone else’s hands, but the garment care team returned my gown to it’s near-new beauty - no easy feat after dragging her through mud and sticks at our barn venue! I used Pratt Abbott in Falmouth to clean and box my wedding gown up after my wedding. They were very friendly and easy to work with and let me see my dress after it was cleaned before it was boxed up. I was impressed by how well they did cleaning it as my dress had some stains on the bottom from being dragged around all night! Only thing was that they failed to call us when the dressed was boxed and ready to be picked up. After some time, we called to find out it had been ready. Disappointed about that part, but very satisfied with the quality of work they did to get my dress clean and boxed up. They even sent us a thank note in the mail for using their services with a gift card for next time!

Great work but expensive. I wasn't planning on spending an extra $160 just to get the dress clean but they did a thorough and good job of it.

Pratt Abbott was the best choice for our wedding in Portland, ME. I dropped of my wedding dress to be pressed before the wedding, and it was delivered right to my hotel in pristine condition (as expected of course!). I am also having them clean and preserve the dress because I was so happy with the service and how personable the entire team is, instead of waiting until I get back home to Boston. The pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quality work you're receiving (and they're always sending coupons if you sign up for their emails in advance!).

Pratt Abbott cleaned my dress after my wedding day and it came out looking great! We had a beautiful wedding day but because of rain a few days before the wedding there was residual mud on the ground. I was focused on having fun on my wedding day so I did not care about walking in the mud during pictures and the cocktail hour, and just hoped my dress could be cleaned afterward. We went away on a little honeymoon after so I did not get the dress to Pratt Abbott until about 2 weeks after the wedding. All the mud came out and the dress looks great! I decided not to get the dress "preserved" but it is clean:)

Pratt Abbott did a fantastic job of steaming my wedding dress for me. Angela (their wedding coordinator) was very responsive and worked with me to make sure everything went according to plan. I was very nervous about leaving my expensive dress in someone else's possession but she put me at ease. My wedding was in Kennebunkport and Pratt Abbott's dress steaming services are in Portland. But I was able to drop off the dress at the Kennebunkport office and they transported it to Portland and back in time for the wedding. I needed to drop it off on Thursday in order to get it back in time for a Saturday ceremony. The only reason I would give 4 stars out of 5 is because of the experience dropping off the dress. While I had coordinated everything with Angela in advance, the woman manning the desk at the Kennebunkport office wasn't aware that I was coming. I later found out that there was some miscommunication about when I would be there which is no one's fault, but it did make for a confusing drop-off situation. The woman at the desk wasn't answering questions directly and got me worried that I wouldn't get the dress back in time. She mentioned something about not getting deliveries on Saturday which is when I had scheduled a pickup. So I panicked... but then I found out that their rush turn-around meant that it would actually get delivered Friday night so I could pick up Friday or Saturday. So after about 15 minutes of trying to get clear answers I finally felt better. Of course, I was worried rush-order meant I would have to pay more, but Angela had already planned that into the price. I contacted Angela directly after the experience with my concerns and she again made me feel at ease and promised to have the dress back for me. Everything worked out according to plan and the dress was beautiful! For anyone planning to drop off at a location other than Portland, definitely call ahead and plan out the schedule with Angela!

Based on their reputation and length of experience in wedding dress preservation, we had Pratt Abbott clean and preserve our daughter's wedding gown and veil after her June wedding. I spoke with Angela Emery, PA's Garment Care Coordinator, by phone before delivering the items to PA to be certain that I had a clear understanding of the process. She couldn't have been nicer and it was immediately evident that she knew her stuff! I had complete confidence in them. The staff at the drop-off location was equally helpful, thorough and pleasant . The entire process was handled professionally and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

I took my delicate lace wedding dress to Pratt Abbott after getting married in August. It rained and our reception was outside, and we served margaritas....needless to say, it was a really fun night and my beautiful dress was TRASHED with mud, spilled mixed drinks, and frosting. (it actually had mold growing on it 2 months later) I took it to Pratt Abbott in Yarmouth and Angela did an awesome job!! Got it back in almost-perfect condition, and the tequila-swamp smell was somehow completely gone, just a little discoloration on the hem remained! so glad I chose to bring it here!

Pratt Abbott is amazing, and specifically, their Wedding Team are absolute miracle-workers. They were amazing to work with before my wedding, and somewhere in their list of glowing reviews I wrote a review several years ago singing their praises. They went above and beyond to make my dress stunning after a cross country flight. Today I'm writing because my dress was an absolute mess after my outdoor wedding, and 2 years after getting married, I decided to finally get it cleaned so I can sell the dress. The designer silk dress was covered in soot and water stains. Pratt Abbott cleaned the dress to make it look AS GOOD AS NEW. I was shocked when I picked it up. I am confident I can now sell the dress. This team is absolutely amazing, and they take so much care with wedding dresses. There honestly aren't enough words to say how impressed I am with this team.

I recently got married in June and wanted to wear my grandmother's lace wedding dress. The dress was over 70 years old. While it was in good condition, it had yellowed quite a bit. I took it to Pratt Abbott around December and within a month they returned the dress and it was a bright white. I couldn't believe how well they had restored it. The dress looked new. They also restored my mother's wedding dress which was not as old but had a stain on it. Again the dress was perfectly white. It was so special for me to be able to wear both dresses on my big day and that would not have been possible without Pratt Abbott!

When I bought a "pre loved" wedding dress for my wedding in October, I knew the dress would need to be cleaned when I got it, but I had no idea what condition the dress really was in until I opened the bag...There was makeup on the inside of the bust and about a foot along the entire hemline was literally black! I was so upset!! I contacted Angela and she was so professional and reassuring, I brought the dress in that weekend. When the consultant took my dress out of the bag I was on the verge of tears and warned her that it was pretty bad, and I couldn't even believe that I heard her say "This shouldn't be a problem at all!" I was on cloud 9! I left my dress with them and picked it up a few weeks later and kept it in the bag until my appointment for my alterations. The dress was absolutely flawless!! Pratt Abbott delivered excellent, timely and cheerful service on a very short turnaround time. We arranged for pick up of the wedding dress as soon as our plane landed in Maine, and they pressed and returned the dress in pristine condition early the next day. After the wedding, we realized that mailing the dress to Pratt Abbott for cleaning and preserving was much more cost-effective than using a local cleaner in our own metro area. Customer Service chief Angela Emery and the team at Pratt Abbott make it all happen with no worries!

I used Pratt Abbott for after wedding dress care and preservation. I was really pleased with their customer service throughout the process, which was super easy! I dropped my dress off at my local Pratt Abbott and they gave me the option to view it before they put it in the preservation box at the South Portland store. The bottom of my dress was very soiled and there was a small rip in part of the tulle in the bustle area--however, when Pratt Abbott was done with it the dress looked good as new and they were even able to repair the rip! When the preservation was done I picked it back up at my local store; I'm happy I made the investment in preservation, they did a wonderful job. Angela and Becky were great to work, and I even received a hand written thank you from Angela a few weeks later which was really impressive! I would definitely recommend using Pratt Abbott.

GREAT! I took my dress in about a month after the wedding. Angela was very responsive via email answering questions. Very easy process to drop off. All staff were very friendly. About 6 weeks later I picked up my dress beautifully boxed and preserved. I am so happy I can keep my dress forever so beautifully presented. Well worth the cost (which seems reasonable). I recommend working with Pratt Abbott. I was glad to have this done at a local shop.

This review is long overdue and I apologize. Our daughter was married this past July and her reception was at the Inn on Peaks Island. When she and I went shopping to find her perfect wedding dress, we wanted to make certain she was able to have fun in her dress. Can you bend over, can you dance and can you sit down in your dress without having to hold it up or fear of the dress ripping? At the end of the evening, if her wedding dress was any indication of how much fun she had, FUN she had. The dress was simply filthy dirty, with grass stains (from pictures), dirt from walking the island roads and, of course, the late night pizza stains! We thought the stains would never come out of the dress. I went online and emailed Pratt Abbott to tell them about her dress. Within two hours, I received an email back from Angela indicating no appointment was necessary, to simply bring the dress into any of their fourteen locations and they would make it beautiful again. And that they did! Thank you so much for taking such great care of her dress. As you said, the dirtier the wedding dress, the more fun the bride had. Thank you again and I would recommend Pratt Abbott to all brides looking to have their dresses cleaned and preserved.

EXCELLENT! Pratt Abbott did a beautiful job cleaning and preserving my dress. Their personal service was also remarkable. Even as I was indecisive about whether or not I wanted to preserve my dress and difficult to get a hold of because of my work schedule, Pratt Abbott remained gracious and helpful. Working with Pratt Abbott was extremely easy and I am very pleased with how my dress looks! I didn't think about needing to have my dress cleaned at all until the day after the wedding and seeing how dirty the hemline of my dress had gotten. After the honeymoon, I scrambled around doing research to try and find someone to clean my dress and that was when I saw that Pratt Abbott, the dry cleaner down the street, had the special certifications to do so. I emailed them and got a response right away. My dress and I were in two different locations, but my grandmother brought it to them and then they called me so that I could pay for the service directly. Every person I spoke to was lovely and helpful. My dress now looks just as perfect as it did before I put it on.

Pratt Abbott was great to work with. I received a gift card for our wedding or preparing and preserving the dress. My dress may have been a challenge, beads all over and lace shoulders, but the lady that assisted us never let me or mom worry at all!! The steam and preparation was perfect. OUTSTANDING SERVICE! We can't thank the entire Pratt Abbott team enough for the special service they provided to ensure our daughter's wedding dress was perfect! We traveled with the dress from Texas. We experienced top notch care and professionalism with the gown from the moment we dropped it off in the So. Portland location to the personal delivery by Angela and Becky directly to the Black Point Inn where our daughter was getting married. The dress had delicate pressing needs that were handled perfectly making the dress fit like a dream. Angela and Becky delivered the dress the day before the wedding making sure they found just the right spot to hang it and before leaving making sure additional steaming needs were taken care of so that it was wrinkle free. Everyone made us feel as though we were their only bridal customer and definitely most important to them! We thank them all for making the already beautiful but stressful day much more relaxing!

Pratt Abbott did a fantastic job cleaning and preserving my wedding dress from 1972. This dress was also the dress my mother wore in 1940. Unfortunately, it was never properly stored therefore it yellowed significantly. I am so pleased with the way it came out after all these years, Becky did an amazing job! I highly recommend Pratt Abbott to any bride! I am grateful to now have these memories properly stored away safely for whatever may come down the road.

I brought my dress to Pratt Abbott to get cleaned before the my wedding because I had purchased it off the rack. Angela was very helpful answering all of my questions and recommended that I have it altered first and then cleaned. In hindsight I wish I had done it the other way around, because I needed a couple small alterations after. Nonetheless, the dress was cleaned perfectly and looked perfect! Turnaround was SUPER fast!

I loved working with Pratt Abbott Cleaners for my wedding gown needs. Angela was wonderful and was easily accessible with any questions regarding the care and transportation of my gown and veil. Pratt Abbott got my garments all ready for my big day and then took away the stress of transportation by delivering it to my venue the day before. It was beautiful. Pratt Abbott did an incredible job steaming and pressing my wedding dress prior to my wedding and then cleaning and preserving it after the wedding. They were very friendly and ensured the dress was ready with plenty of time to spare. After the wedding I thought the bottom of the dress was destroyed with red wine and grass stains but Pratt Abbott was able to get it back looking nearly new. It was a designer silk gown with extensive detail and the owner took extra care to clean the material by hand with special solutions. I would recommend Pratt Abbott to any bride looking to freshen up her gown before or to restore it after the big day.

My dress came back great & looks beautiful from what I can tell. My only minor complaint is the box the dress came in. The handle was not sturdy at all & I could not carry the box by its handle. Other than that the customer service was great, & dress looks well preserved. I also received a very sweet note congratulating/thanking me for using Pratt Abbott.

My experience with Pratt Abbott with Angela (and Jane) at my recent wedding in Maine was so amazing. I was flabbergasted at the degree of service they provided. Angela went above and beyond from our initial conversations through to the delivery of my wedding dress and my husband's suit. I planned the wedding in Maine from our home in South Carolina and Angela walked me through the best options for shipping my dress and when to have it delivered. She actually brought my dress to the ferry to Peak's Island where we were getting married, on a Sunday! Perhaps more impressive is the way she handled our "first wedding emergency" with my husband's custom suit. A cleaner in South Carolina stained his brand new custom made shirt the day before we left for Maine (we went up on a Thursday and the wedding was on Sunday.) I contacted Angela in a panic and she immediately went into action and had an employee standing by to help us see if the shirt could be salvaged. Jane washed the shirt several times and spent a lot of time on Friday, but managed to get it clean!!!! Again, above and beyond service! I had no idea this existed for something as seemingly ordinary as cleaning a dress and suit. Thanks Angela and everyone at Pratt Abbott in Maine. I recently had my wedding gown cleaned and preserved at Pratt Abbott Cleaners. I first spoke with Angela, who represents their wedding division. She was so kind and so helpful; she explained the entire process to me and let me know what to expect. I dropped my gown off at the Yarmouth location where Kate provided exceptional service! She took the time to look over my gown to find any obvious stains or damage. Kate also went over the the process with me and let me know what my finished gown would like like and how to care for and store the box. I was told that the process may take over a month but I received an e-mail that it was ready in less than two weeks! The preservation looks fantastic and it came with written instructions on how to care for and store the dress (something I would have forgotten over the years). I highly recommend Pratt Abbott Cleaners for any garment that is important to you!

I was very pleased to work with Angela Emery, Garment Care Coordinator at Pratt Abbott Cleaners. In planning a destination wedding, I wasn't familiar with the local vendors. On line reviews assured me Pratt Abbott is very experienced in wedding gown cleaning/ pressing. I flew to Portland with the gown, not concerned if it was wrinkled, because an appointment was scheduled with Pratt Abbott. The customer service was exceptional. Angela contacted me to confirm when I would deliver my gown to Pratt Abbott and where and when I needed it delivered upon cleaning. Delivery was prompt and the gown looked beautiful!

Angela and her team were amazing! My dress had a lot of layers and silk flower apliques that were folded over and needed to be perfected! They went above and beyond to make my wedding dress perfect! They came to my bridal suite and took their time and spent close to 3 hours steaming my dress! I was so happy and couldn't wait to wear my wedding dress!! Thank you all so much for making me feel beautiful on my special day!

My mother actually handled everything for me (I live in a different state), but it seemed like they were courteous to deal with and it was much less expensive than I thought it would be. The dress came out looking pristine and they even sent a handwritten note after completing the work. Very glad I used their services.
